May Half Term Workshops

This May half term, Stonefall Tutoring by Claire Brooke is running a series of fun, hands-on workshops for primary-aged children who enjoy exploring, investigating and trying something different.

Each session is built around a practical activity, from slime-making to science investigations, giving children an engaging and memorable experience across the week. The focus is on keeping things active, accessible and enjoyable, while still providing structure and guidance throughout.

Science Explorers Week

This May half term programme has been designed as a week of themed sessions, combining practical science workshops with a small number of focused maths sessions in the mornings.

Afternoons are all about curiosity, creativity and hands-on learning, while morning sessions offer a more structured start to the day for those who want it. Sessions are kept small to ensure every child can take part, ask questions and feel involved.

What's On?

Workshops run across the week, with each morning session lasting an hour and a half, and each afternoon session lasting 1 hour 45 minutes.

What To Expect

Sessions are practical, interactive and designed to keep children engaged throughout. Activities are guided step by step, with time to explore, test ideas and enjoy the process.

Children don’t need any prior knowledge to take part. The aim is to create a relaxed and positive environment where they can get involved, try something new and leave feeling good about what they’ve done.

Morning Sessions: Number Ninjas

For those attending the morning sessions, Number Ninjas offers a more energetic and engaging way to build confidence with times tables.

These sessions are fast-paced and activity-led, using games, challenges and group tasks to help children feel more secure with number recall. The focus is on building confidence and making maths feel more approachable, rather than repetitive or pressured.

Slime Workshops

Mix, stretch and experiment as children create their own slime while exploring how different ingredients work together.
